Mary Frances StJohn O’Connor September 5, 1944-January 1,2026
On Thursday January1st, 2026 Mary StJohn O’Connor’s weary earthly vessel gave up its fight, and her spirit went to be with Jesus. She took her last earthly breath with her best friend and loving husband of 50 years and her two daughters, Jennifer O’Connor and Gentry Tollin, by her side. Mary was loved by many, but no one loved her more than her family especially her 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 4 grandchildren-in-laws.
Mary is the daughter of Doyle and Lora Wininger StJohn. She is the sister of Bill and Mac StJohn who all left this earth before her.
Mary was born in Olney Texas and spent most of her youth in Ballinger Texas. After marrying William “Bill” O’Connor they moved to Brownsville Texas in 1976 and to Houston Texas in 1996. In 2015 they moved to Ruidoso New Mexico, but her heart never left Texas. Mary loved to cook and loved teaching her grandchildren to cook. Mary was always the life of the party and someone once you met her you could never forget her. She touched many lives and her beauty shined inside and out.
Waiting patiently to join her in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are her husband William Rogers O’Connor, her daughters Jennifer Denise O’Connor and Gentry O’Connor Tollin and her husband Bobby. Her grandchildren Tabitha O’Connor, Alexis Uhlig, Hunter OConnor Plante, Paxton McKenzie Plante Bridges, River Cheatham, and Heidi Coats. great grandchildren Titan, Sheriff, Sadie, PJ, Tinsley, Phoenix, Levi and her namesake, Hallie Frances. As well as her grandchildren in laws, Preston Bridges, Austin Cheatham, Trevor Uhlig and Shannon Meaux Plante. Her niece and nephew Sherri and Mac StJohn and her daughter by another mother, Louise Ara.
She leaves behind her stepsons, Sean and Patrick O’Connor, and their children—Cameron and Ceanna Hudson, Keeley, William, Caleb, and Kenzie O’Connor—as well as her great-granddaughter, Ella.
Mary lived life on this earth as large as her family is and I am sure she made a grand entrance through the Golden Gates and will be waiting for us with open arms. Till we meet again, “Bye, bye, talk to you later!”
We will plan a future date in Texas to celebrate Mary and share precious memories.
The O'Connor family has entrusted their loved one to the care of New Dawn Cremations for direct cremation. Cremation will take place at PCS.
