Louisa Debrina Gonzales

Louisa Debrina Gonzales, 64, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 in San Patricio, New Mexico. She was born on January 18, 1961 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. 

Like a hummingbird sent by God, Louisa moved through this world with grace, purpose, and quiet beauty. Gentle in spirit yet strong in faith, her life reflected God’s love through kindness, compassion, and service to others. Her radiant smile, warm heart, and uplifting presence brought light and joy to everyone she met.

Louisa lived a lifelong journey of faith, trusting God in both joyful and difficult seasons while battling cancer. She found beauty in life’s simple moments and encouraged others through her words and actions. Though her time on earth feels far too short, we take comfort in God’s promise of eternal life, knowing she has laid down her earthly burdens and entered into His peace and everlasting joy.

Louisa’s greatest joy was her family. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, Rick Gonzales, and cherished being the mother of Maylene, Ernestine, Isaiah, and Brianna. She was an amazing gamma to her grandchildren, and she celebrated every milestone with pride and love. She also deeply loved her parents, siblings, extended family, and friends, making meaningful connections wherever she went and speaking the word of God. 

Louisa was preceded in death by her mother, Ernestina Polaco, and her sisters, Monique Davis and Yvette Herrera.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Gonzales; her children, Maylene Bellon (Jared), Ernestine Gonzales, Isaiah Gonzales (Kristie), and Brianna Rios (Savannah); her beloved grandchildren, Averi, Aiden, Driver, Kaylie, Asiah, Oakley, and Aubrie; and a host of family members and devoted friends who will carry forward her legacy of love and faith.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Gateway Church, 415 Sudderth Dr. Ruidoso, NM
