Garrison Weems Obituary

Garrison Heath Weems
There will be a celebration of life for Garrison on Sunday, January 18th at 2:00pm
Capitan Schools Traylor Gymnasium

Born on November 5, 2001, and unexpectedly called home on January 6, 2026, our beloved son lived a life marked by courage, independence, and a deep love for the world around him.

From the very beginning, he lived fully and fearlessly. Independent from the start, he forged his own path and met life with determination, quiet confidence, and a strong work ethic. He graduated from Capitan High School in 2020, where he participated in football, baseball, cross country, and pole vaulting, reflecting both his athleticism and his love for being active and outdoors.

He had a special bond with animals and found great joy in caring for them. Through 4-H, he showed goats and horses and poured love into his dogs and cat, who were constant companions. The outdoors was where he felt most alive-snowboarding, hiking, fly fishing, golfing, disc golfing, searching for sheds, arrowheads, and pottery. He also enjoyed leatherwork and took pride in tying his own flies, appreciating the patience and craftsmanship these pursuits required.

Adventure called to him often, and he answered it gladly. Whether exploring nature or embracing a new challenge, he found peace under open skies and in motion.

Music was his love language. When words failed him, he could always find a song that expressed what his heart was feeling. His smile-complete with dimples that could pierce straight through you-was unforgettable and reflected the warmth and kindness of his spirit.

He graduated in 2021 from Doña Ana Community College with a lineman certificate, a milestone he worked hard to achieve. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Hometown Tire, where he took great pride in his work. He found genuine joy in the people he worked with, and over time, his coworkers became like family to him. He valued their friendship, support, and the sense of belonging they shared.

He is survived by his loving parents, James and Ginger Weems, and by a wide circle of family, friends, coworkers, and loved ones whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his sister Erin; his grandparents, Dan and Claire; his uncle Kirk; and his Pop, all of whom he now joins.

Though his time with us was far too short, his impact is lasting. He will be remembered for his fearless spirit, kind heart, love of adventure, strong work ethic, and the deep connections he formed with those around him.

We take comfort in knowing that God is near to the brokenhearted and that His promises are eternal. We trust that Garrison now rests in God’s perfect peace, held forever in His hands, reunited with loved ones who went before him. Though we grieve, we grieve with hope, knowing that love never ends and that we will see him again.
